River Landing encompasses 6.8 acres along the Roanoke River between Moratoc Park and the NC Wildlife Resources Boat Landing.  The first phase was completed in 2008, which included a boardwalk along the river and a restroom/shower facility.  A camping platform for river paddlers was completed in 2010.  The majority of the project was funded by the NC DOT Enhancement program and NC Wildlife Resources. A grant from the National Recreation and Trails program was also used.

Excellent fishing awaits on the Roanoke River.  Local bait and tackle shops are also available close by.  Visit NC Wildlife Resources Commission for information on seasons and license requirements.

Camping and River Paddling
The River Landing camping platform features an elevated covered building with screened windows and secured access directly off the river boardwalk.  Access to parking, restrooms and showers is just a few steps away.  All facilities are handicap accessible.  The platform is less than one mile from downtown and can easily be reached by the Skewarkee Rail Trail.  To rent the camping platform and for more information on paddling the Roanoke River visit Roanoke River Partners.
