NOTIFICATION OF WASTEWATER SPILL IN THE TOWN OF WILLIAMSTON, N.C. LOCATED IN MARTIN COUNTY

On 7/18/19 the Town of Williamston, N.C. had a discharge of 5000 gallons of untreated sewage from a manhole located just off the dead end of Church Street in the adjacent swamp area next to SkewarkeeGutCanal. The spill was caused by a malfunctioning float control.  The NC Department of Environmental Quality/Division of Water Resources in the Washington Regional Office was notified of this event at 1:45pm on 7/18/19 and is reviewing the matter.
